Equipment hire for the 2023 season is expected to commence bookings in April 2023. Pricing may vary. If you have any questions that aren't on this page, please send us an email.

Are helmets compulsory?

Helmets are free of charge when hiring a skis/boots/poles & snowboard/binding/boots package. Helmets are not compulsory (unless you are a child) but they are HIGHLY recommended. Safety is our top priority. 

What happens if I lose/break the rental equipment?

No worries! Our friendly staff will help navigate any costs incurred if this happens. 
Please keep in mind, by renting gear through Pullins Snow Sports you have agreed to our policy included in our waiver. This includes agreeing to have a manual copy of your bank card taken at the time of hiring. No fee gets taken from your card & this is disposed of once all equipment is returned in proper form. If you are paying in cash, a cash deposit is required.

Can I go night skiing?

All equipment must be returned by end of operational hours (see Contact Us page) OR please discuss with our friendly staff your options.

Do I need to pay for a full day of rental if I don't plan on using the equipment all day?

Our pricing reflects full day rentals. If you are renting for multiple days and hire your equipment from 3pm onwards, you won't pay for the remainder of that day.
If you're pre-paying for your equipment online, only pay for the days that you will be using the equipment. 
Children pricing is classed as 16 years old and below.

When can I return my hire?

Any time between our operational hours. Check out our contact page for details.
If you're planning on leaving the mountain via taxi, bus or village shuttle, please do keep in mind for additional waiting times. It is not our responsibility to stay open past operational hours for you to return all equipment on time.

I'm renting for multiple days. Which option do I choose?

If you're wanting to rent equipment for multiple days, select the 'X days' in the product you're needing.
E.g. If you're wanting to hire for an Adult Skis/Boots/Poles for 2 days, you would choose "Adult Skis/Boots/Poles (helmet inc) 2 DAY."
If you're renting for more than the provided days, please contact Pullins Snow Sports to adjust for additional days of hire.

Where can I return my equipment?

Please return all rented items to Pullins Snow Sports, located next to the BP Petrol Station on Mt Buller Road.

Can I change from skis to snowboard & vice versa?

You're able to swap from skis to snowboard & vice versa for a nominated fee. If you've hired for multiple days, your rental includes 1 changeover free of charge. If you are wanting to switch back, you will be required to pay the fee.

What should I wear to the snow?

Layers are your friend! We recommend wearing weather appropriate clothing. Long sleeves, leggings, thermal attire & most importantly, SOCKS! Due to hygiene reasons, each customer is required to wear socks when trying on any footwear. 
Pullins Snow Sports do have socks, beanies, gloves, hand/feet warmers, belts and much more to purchase in store.

What should I bring when I pick up my equipment?

Please bring a current form of government issued identification as well as a credit or debit card. Having your booking on hand helps too!

How can I make changes to my booking & can I get a refund?

If you haven't used the equipment, of course! Under no circumstance are refunds provided for change of heart or weather conditions. This includes closure of chair lifts due to wind, snow, hail, rain & more. Vouchers will be provided in these circumstances. Please be mindful that terms & conditions apply so please ask the staff for our policy.

If you need to make a change to your booking, no worries! Please contact our staff via email or phone to make alterations.

Should I hire the Performance or Demo package?

If you are a confident intermediate to advanced skier or snowboarder, we highly recommend renting either of these products. As a beginner, you will only need to hire Adult Skis/Boots/Poles or Adult Snowboard/Bindings/Boots package.

If your child wants to hire Performance skis/snowboards, they will be charged as adult pricing.

Availability may be limited.

Where do I keep my equipment overnight?

If you are staying on mountain, you are required to take all equipment with you back to your accommodation.
There are public lockers available in the Village Square Plaza that are valid for 12 hours. If you need storage during operating hours, Black Mountain Equipment has limited lockers available to hire. These cannot be pre booked & are subject to daily availability.

We DO NOT recommend leaving your equipment outside in the village, at ski school, in the Village Square Plaza etc as products may be subject to damage and theft. It is your responsibility to care for all equipment.

My child is under 18 years of age, can they still rent equipment?

All minors under the age of 18 years old require a legal guardian or parent to hire any equipment. It is required that an adult over the age of 18 years old signs the waiver provided.

Do you have a tech workshop?

Yes, we do! Come say hi to our crew for all of your snow equipment related maintenance & repair needs.
Please note that during peak times (weekends/school holidays/interschools) any technician works may be limited. Best to think ahead of time and organise a drop off & pick up time.

Should I check out as a Guest or should I create an account?

The benefit of creating an account is to make for a smoother checking out process. All prior orders are kept on file so it's easy to use when rebooking.
